Dumpster Rental Fees in Sioux Falls: What's Included and What Costs Extra

What's included in every 20-yard rental

Every published 20-yard price includes delivery, pickup, and 1 ton when the address is within 15 miles of Sioux Falls.

Delivery and pickup within 15 miles

Brandon is about 8 miles from Sioux Falls, and Tea is about 12 miles, so both sit inside the 15-mile area. There is no separate delivery line and no separate fuel surcharge inside that area. The distance fee starts only after 15 miles.

1 ton (2,000 lb) of debris, based on total weight at pickup

The included ton is the weight of the whole container at pickup. It is not a daily allowance. Extra weight is $50 per ton, prorated, from the landfill scale ticket. A 20-yard dumpster has a maximum weight of 7.5 tons.

Same-day delivery at no extra charge

Order before 2 PM Monday through Friday and same-day delivery has no extra charge. Weekend and holiday delivery is not priced here. Call or text (605) 937-5430.

Fees that can be added to your bill

The rental price is not the whole bill. Sales tax applies, and the fees below are extra when they apply.

Extra weight

Extra weight is $50 per ton, prorated, from the landfill scale ticket. Half a ton over the included ton is about $25. A 7-day rental with 2.5 tons of debris is $390 plus 1.5 tons times $50, which is $465 before sales tax, distance, and item fees. A 7-day rental with 2 tons is $440. Concrete, dirt, brick, and shingles are heavy. Use the dumpster size guide for a ton of debris, and estimate shingle weight before you book.

Concrete, dirt, brick, or shingles mixed into general debris add a $25 fee. That fee is separate from the per-ton charge. The container still cannot exceed 7.5 tons.

Extra days

Extra days are $15 per day on the 24-hour, 3-day, and 7-day rentals. A 24-hour rental plus 2 days is $330, the same as booking the 3-day rental. A 3-day rental plus 4 days is $390, the same as the 7-day rental. If you already know the job will run that long, book the longer rental. See how to extend your rental ($15/day).

Mileage beyond 15 miles

The distance fee is $3 per mile beyond 15 miles of Sioux Falls. A Brookings address about 58 miles from Sioux Falls is about $129. A Watertown address about 100 miles from Sioux Falls is about $255. Call or text (605) 937-5430 for the miles to your driveway. The delivery area and mileage page lists the towns we serve.

Sales tax

Sales tax applies. We do not publish a rate. Tax is not included in $300, $330, or $390.

Item fees

These items are accepted, and each one has a fee. A mattress or box spring is $20. A tire is $10. A TV, monitor, or computer is $10. A fridge, freezer, or AC unit is $25. Yard waste and concrete are accepted. Mixed household and construction debris are accepted. Hazardous waste is not accepted. For leaves, branches, brush, and sod, see the fall yard cleanup dumpster guide.

Washers, dryers, and other appliances without refrigerant are not priced here. Call or text (605) 937-5430 before you load them.

Other job fees

Relocation is $50. A dry run or trip fee is $50. An overfilled load is $50. Container damage is $100. Late payment is $25. A swap or second haul, and cancellation, are not priced here. Call or text (605) 937-5430.

Permit fees by town

Permit charges are city fees. They are not part of the $300, $330, or $390 rental. The town-by-town rules are in dumpster permit rules in Sioux Falls and Tea.

Sioux Falls

A dumpster in your own driveway does not need a city permit. A dumpster left on a city street for more than 24 hours needs a $15 permit from the City Engineer, posted on the container.

Tea

Tea requires a placement permit for every dumpster, including one on private property. Apply at least 3 working days before delivery. The private-property fee is waived. The street fee is set by the city and is not published here. See dumpster rental in Tea.

Brandon

A Brandon dumpster permit rule is not confirmed. Call or text (605) 937-5430. Brandon is inside the 15-mile delivery area, so the distance fee does not apply. See dumpster rental in Brandon.

Prohibited items and what they can cost you

Hazardous waste is not accepted. That includes paint, chemicals, solvents, batteries, and liquids. Mattresses, tires, electronics, refrigerant appliances, yard waste, and concrete are accepted for the fees in the table above.

If a load is overfilled, the fee is $50. If the container is damaged, the fee is $100. For an item that is not on this page, call or text (605) 937-5430 before you load it. The full list is on what can't go in a dumpster.

Fees you won't see from us

Three charges that other companies sometimes add are not separate lines on our bill.

• Same-day delivery on a weekday, ordered before 2 PM, has no extra charge.
• Delivery and pickup inside 15 miles of Sioux Falls have no extra charge.
• There is no separate fuel surcharge. Distance beyond 15 miles is the $3 per mile fee above.

Sales tax still applies, and item fees are still extra. The rental price is not a total for every possible load.

How our fees compare in Sioux Falls

This section is local market context from our comparison page, verified August 11, 2026. It is not a new price check.

RJ's Roll Off lists a 20-yard at $445 for up to 10 days with 4 tons included, then $65 per ton and $15 per extra day. RJ's weekend special is $295 from Thursday to Monday with 1 ton included. Rockn Rolloffs and Dakota Dumpster Rental do not publish prices. At our 7-day rate of $390 with 1 ton included and $50 per extra ton, the break-even against that $445 RJ's rental is about 2.1 tons.

How to keep your total at the base price

Book the rental length you actually need. Keep the load at or under 1 ton if you want to avoid the $50 per ton charge. In Sioux Falls, use your own driveway if you want to skip the $15 street permit. Set hazardous waste aside. Call or text (605) 937-5430 before the scheduled pickup if you need another day.
